Financial Advisors
Financial health is very important to the success of our collegiate chapters. Collegiate vice presidents of finance have a large responsibility and manage big budgets. The VPFs try their best, but often need local assistance with financial policies, ledgers, and budgeting. Can you help? What is needed?
The financial advisor is a resource for the vice president of finance.
Her role consists of the following:
• Give support and guidance
• Approve correspondence going to members
• Participate in financial suspension meetings
What the financial advisor should not be doing for chapters except in circumstances where the vice president of finance or a national officer has asked her to become more involved:
• Put together the budget
• Prepare the ledgers
• Control the checkbook
Experience in a financial field is not required. What is necessary is a willingness to give time to help our collegians. To volunteer your assistance as a financial advisor or to find out more, contact national headquarters.
